Chin Dimpling and DAO Botox

Chin dimpling (often nicknamed “peach pit” or “orange peel” chin) and downturned mouth corners from the DAO muscles are very common worries for people who want their lower face to look smoother and less tense.

At Harley Street Injectables, these areas are treated with small, targeted Botox injections to soften the pull of overactive muscles, refine the chin and gently lift the corners of the mouth so your expression looks more relaxed but still like you.

The Science Behind Bruxism Treatments:

For bruxism, Harley Street Injectables can use botulinum toxin in the jaw muscles that are doing most of the clenching and grinding. Calming these muscles reduces how forcefully you grind your teeth, which can ease jaw tension and discomfort and help limit further tooth wear, while keeping everyday chewing and speaking comfortable.

Chin Dimpling

Chin dimpling usually happens when the mentalis muscle is working too hard, causing the skin on the chin to bunch or pucker, especially when you talk or smile. By placing small amounts of Botox into this muscle, it can relax just enough for the surface of the skin to look smoother and the chin to appear more even and refined.

DAO (Depressor Anguli Oris) Botox

The DAO muscles pull the corners of the mouth down, which can leave you looking sad or stern even when you feel fine. Treating these muscles with Botox lightens that downward pull so the corners of the mouth sit in a softer, slightly lifted position and marionette lines can appear less deep, giving a more open, balanced expression.

EXPERT CARE BY OUR MEDICAL TEAM

At Harley Street Injectables, treatments are carried out by an experienced, medically led team of doctors and registered nurses who work with Botox for the lower face and bruxism every day.

They look carefully at your facial anatomy, bite, muscle strength and concerns, then tailor your doses and injection points so results feel natural and sit in harmony with the rest of your features.

PREPARATION AND AFTERCARE

Before treatment, your practitioner will review your medical history and any medications, and talk through your symptoms and goals so they can confirm this approach is right for you. Afterwards, you will receive Clear & Brilliant [Visit Web Page], personalised aftercare instructions – for example avoiding rubbing the treated areas and delaying strenuous exercise for a short time – to help the injections settle well and reduce the chance of mild side effects such as bruising or tenderness

FAQs

Chin dimpling can be caused by genetic factors, muscle hyperactivity, or natural aging processes. Similarly, overactivity of the DAO muscles may result from facial muscle imbalances, age-related changes, or habitual facial expressions.

Botox works by temporarily relaxing the targeted muscles, reducing their activity and smoothing out the skin’s surface. This results in a softer and more refined chin appearance and helps lift the corners of the mouth for a rejuvenated facial expression.

Discomfort during Botox injections is typically minimal and well-tolerated by most patients. Our practitioners may use numbing cream or other techniques to enhance your comfort during the procedure.

The effects of Botox treatment for chin dimpling and DAO muscles typically last for several months, with results gradually diminishing over time. To maintain optimal results, follow-up treatments may be recommended.

Suitable candidates are individuals bothered by the appearance of chin dimpling, downturned mouth corners, or marionette lines and desire a smoother, more youthful facial appearance. During your consultation, our practitioners will evaluate your candidacy based on your specific concerns and medical history.

Prices for Chin and DAO Botox treatments start from £200.
