Good afternoon, I have the honor of serving as the Professor of Military Science for the Georgia Southern Eagle Battalion Army ROTC program.
Each year, the Army holds the Army 10 Miler in Washington DC. Normally, this is a great trip for the Cadets. Unfortunately, COVID caused the race to move to a virtual format. Anyone can run the Army 10 Miler on a course of their choosing.
I invited the 10 Cadets on the Georgia Southern Eagle Battalion Army ROTC 10 Mile Team to run a 10-mile course in our beautiful neighborhood! It is extremely flat, and we are expecting some great run times!
The team is competing against all the ROTC programs in the country during their run. We are running to win the Team Competition as the best ROTC 10 Mile Team.
We are starting at the Landings Harbor Marina and running south along Priest Landing Drive to Bartram Road, running Bartram Road to Landings Way, and running Landings Way to the entrance of the Palmetto Clubhouse (5 miles). We are then running back north along Landings Way to Bartram to Priest Landing to finish the race back at Landings Harbor Marina.
If anyone happens to be out on the roads and would like to cheer on the US Army’s future leaders… please join us! The more cowbells, horns, whistles the better!
We are starting at 8am. Most of the runners will be running between a 6-7 minute per mile pace. We will be at the entrance of the Palmetto Clubhouse by 8:30 am and complete at the Landings Harbor Marina at approximately 9-9:30.
I yearn to touch you Said both the land and the sea But where shall we meet? Let us decide now.... The place where we stretch furthest And are the most vulnerable
A tanka on that place where land and sea merge.
