Fires

On Sunday, May 10, Security and Chatham Emergency Services (CES) responded to the Plantation Club for a report of a fire. Upon arrival, smoke could be seen exiting the roof near the kitchen landing bay. Security personnel assisted with evacuating the building and TLC employees had extinguished most of the fire prior to CES arrival. CES soaked the area with water to ensure the fire would not reignite. It was determined that the fire started in a trash can on the loading dock, and the fire spread to the attic. Georgia Power and Champion Fire Protection also responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.

Security and CES responded to a residence on Delegal Road for a report of dumpster fire on Monday, May 11. Upon arrival, a large fire could be seen extending over the edge of the dumpster. Fortunately, the residence and the nearby trees were not harmed. CES personnel extinguished the fire, and the homeowner was contacted. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Suspicious Incidents

On Thursday, May 7, Security responded to Priber Lane for a suspicious incident. The complainant advised that there was a trailer in her yard that did not belong to her, and she would like it moved. Upon arrival, the homeowner stated it belonged to a nearby neighbor who already had removed it.

Security responded to Savy Lane on Friday, May 8, for a reported theft. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a gentleman who works for a lawn care company performing work in the area. The man stated that he was cutting grass at the residence when he noticed a Chatham County waste collection vehicle backing down the road to pick up bulk trash. He further advised that one of the employees picked up a leaf blower sitting next to the bulk trash and loaded it into the truck. The man believed it was taken on purpose and contacted Chatham County Police Department (CCPD). A CCPD officer was able to track down the Chatham County truck and advised the man that leaf blower would be returned as the employee mistakenly thought it was part of the bulk trash collection due to the location where it was placed.

Disturbing the Peace

Security responded to Waterway Drive for a report of loud music at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 10. Upon arrival, the officer identified the residence where the music could be heard and contacted the homeowner. The resident advised they were having a party for Mother’s Day and agreed to keep the music down.
