Please note that a brief synopsis is provided for pertinent incidents that Security responds to during the previous week. All incidents are not covered in the weekly recap. Statistics for incident reports are provided below.

Vehicle Accidents

On Friday, November 14, Landings Security and Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) responded to a vehicle accident on Bartram Road. The driver of the first vehicle advised that he had not seen the second vehicle parked on the side of the road due to the sun being in his eyes, which caused him to strike the rear driver’s side of the parked vehicle. Both vehicles were removed from the area via tow truck.

On Monday, November 17, a deer ran into the side of a Security vehicle while the Officer was conducting routine patrols. The Officer was uninjured in the incident, and the vehicle sustained damage to the front, passenger-side of the bumper.

Golf Cart Fire

On Saturday, November 15, Landings Security and Chatham County Fire Department (CCFD) responded to Wiley Bottom Road for a report of a golf cart fire. The resident advised that upon returning home for the day, they noticed a hot, burning smell coming from the golf cart. Upon further inspection, they noticed smoke and a red liquid coming from the golf cart battery. CCFD determined that the battery had a hole in it and needed to be replaced. The resident was advised to leave the golf cart parked in the driveway and not operate it until the battery was replaced.

Theft

On Thursday, November 13, Landings Security responded to Dame Kathryn Drive for a report of a theft. The resident stated that two beach cruiser bicycles were missing and were last seen around 1:30 p.m. It is unknown who took the bicycles. Security staff are checking surveillance footage to identify if anyone was seen taking the bicycles. The resident did not want to file a report with CCPD.
