First Responders Update

President, First Responders

This time of year is my favorite. I love the cooler weather and upcoming holiday season. People start celebrating with family and friends, and there is always an uptick of social gatherings.

With that, we also see a lot of drinking and driving. I have to admit, it is bizarre that I have to write articles at all about the dangers of consuming alcohol and then getting behind the wheel of a vehicle. (Yes, that includes golf carts, too.)

If you are hosting a holiday party, entertaining guests, or just celebrating with family, please don’t let anyone leave your home after they’ve been drinking and get behind the wheel.

There seems to be a huge misconception that just because you live out here and only have a short distance to drive, your chances of getting into an accident are low.

My last article discussed the importance of the yellow medical cards that we provide. As a reminder once again, you can grab them from  TLA’s  front desk or ask one of your First Responder neighbors or friends.

Lastly, please put all the Landings Golf & Athletic Club addresses in your contacts on your phone. If you need to call 911 for an emergency while you’re at one of the clubs and  you need to know the physical address, all you’ll have to do it pull it up on your phone.

Stay safe!
