Theft
On Thursday, September 26, Security responded to Landings Harbor Marina for a report of theft. The manager at Dolan Yacht Services reported that a customer dropped his boat off for service on Tuesday (September 23) at approximately 11:15 a.m. The boat was parking in the Landings Harbor parking lot overnight and brought into the service area the following morning. When the customer arrived to pick up his boat on Thursday, he noticed the trolling motor was missing. It is believed that the motor was taken on the evening of September 23, while the boat was in the parking lot. It is unknown who took the motor. Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) was notified and is investigating. Video is being reviewed to identify suspects.
Trespassing
On Tuesday (October 1), Security responded to Lake Street and Diamond Causeway near the golf cart path for a report of individuals holding up signs and asking residents for money. Initially, the panhandlers were on public property (Diamond Causeway’s right of way) and were not trespassing on private property. Eventually, they crossed onto TLA’s private property and CCPD was notified and issued the individuals a criminal trespass notice. Both individuals left the island.
Traffic Safety
The Guardian Pro camera/LIDAR system was removed from its location due to Hurricane Helene and will be put back into service by October 4. To date, approximately 300 fines for violating the speed limit have been paid. Traffic Safety & Compliance resources will be dedicated to the Community paths this week.
