General Manager's Update December 2025
Dear Landings Association Members,
As 2025 draws to a close, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to every member of our community for another year of outstanding achievement, resilience, and togetherness. Your dedication and engagement have been the cornerstone of our collective success, and it’s a privilege to serve as your General Manager. The spirit you bring to The Landings continues to inspire, and I am deeply thankful for your unwavering support.
2025 Accomplishments
This year, we reached several important milestones. In May, after receiving dozens of your comments and suggestions, we finalized our Strategic Plan for 2025-2027. This plan was carefully crafted to reflect the needs and aspirations of our community and includes several focus areas and objectives that will guide our efforts in the coming years. Our Strategic Plan reflects our shared vision and commitment to The Landings’ long-term sustainability and vibrancy.
The work of the Community Paths Task Force was another highlight. Through this team’s diligent efforts, we’ve improved accessibility and safety on our community paths, making them more enjoyable for everyone, with more improvements to come in 2026. I also recognize the invaluable contributions of our Catch-the-King volunteers. Thank you to everyone who participated in the mapping event on Thursday, November 6. This group of more than 100 volunteers successfully created a baseline Sea Level Rise Map for the Landings community and gathered more than 5,300 data points, complete with photographs and valuable feedback, which will help shape a Resiliency Plan for our future.
Finally, to every member of our 2025 TLA Committees, special task forces, and small groups with volunteer talent from the community, thank you. Your time, expertise, and passion for the success of our community are greatly appreciated. You can see a list of more than 1,100 community volunteers on pages 24-27 of the December edition of The Landings Journal. Please know your contributions have made a tangible difference in the life of our community.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As we turn our sights to 2026, I am filled with anticipation for the opportunities and progress ahead. A major initiative this month is the soft launch of our new website in early December. This platform will offer improved accessibility, up-to-date information, and enhanced features to better serve you. We value your input, which is why before our full launch we decided to offer all community members the opportunity to weigh in. Please share your feedback and suggestions regarding the new website to ensure this year-long endeavor meets your needs and expectations. You can email us (www.landings.org). Throughout 2026, we will continue tweaking the website based on community feedback and adding new features as we integrate the website with the new database that should be completed by first quarter 2026.
Our focus for the coming year remains on fostering an inclusive environment of engaged members, expanding community programs, and maintaining the high standards that define The Landings. We look forward to collaborating with you on many exciting projects. Stay tuned!
Holiday Season Reminders
With the holiday season approaching, I encourage all members to remain vigilant against scams and to take steps to secure your homes and vehicles. This is a time of celebration, but also a time when extra caution is advised. Remember, theft is a crime of opportunity. Always lock your home and cars, and never leave firearms or valuables in vehicles. Simple measures can go a long way in protecting your family and property.
As we embark on the holidays, I invite you to read The Rise of Mindful Gifting article. The piece highlights the importance of non-material giving -- thoughtful gestures, shared experiences, and contributions to community well-being. Let’s make this season meaningful by embracing the spirit of generosity and mindful giving. Throughout the holidays and beyond, let’s continue to show courtesy and kindness. Share a SkidaWave with a neighbor as you pass them on the trails, move over three feet in your golf cart as you approach a cyclist on the community paths, or stop if there is no room to move over. These are just a few examples of simple yet powerful ways to strengthen our bonds and foster a sense of community.
Recent and Ongoing Projects
Staff remain dedicated to advancing the primary objectives outlined in the Association’s 2025-2027 Strategic Plan.

Winners’ Circle
- We received more than 100 applications for 2026 TLA Committee Membership. Although we cannot place everyone, we will retain all applications as potential talent for special projects and task forces throughout the year.
- Routine Maintenance - Landscaping, repairs, and facility upkeep continue throughout the community to preserve the comfort and safety of our shared spaces.
Thank you once again for making 2025 a remarkable year. Your participation and feedback are always valued, especially as we embark on new initiatives and look forward to a bright 2026. As always, feel free to reach out if I can help (karls@landings.org).
Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, joyful, and peaceful holiday season. Let’s continue to support one another and build on the successes we’ve achieved together.
Sincerely,
