Unauthorized Entry – Trespassing
On May 11, Landings Security was called regarding an unauthorized visitor. Upon Security’s arrival, the individual ran across the golf course. A search for the individual was conducted, and he was seen leaving the area in a vehicle parked in Skidaway Island Baptist Church’s parking lot. The individual was identified, and Chatham County Police have been notified.
Heating and Cooling Unit Electrical Fire
On May 12, Landings Security and Chatham Emergency Services (CES) responded to an electrical fire. Upon arrival, a strong smell of burning was detected. A check of the residence was conducted by CES, and it was found that the issue was in the heating and cooling unit located in the attic. The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical.
Possible Theft of a Bicycle
On May 12, Landings Security responded to a missing bicycle on Peregrine Crossing. The owner of the bicycle had placed it near the bulk trash pile while doing yard work. It is unclear if someone took the bicycle believing it was part of the trash. Currently, there are no suspects.
Reckless Driving
On May 12, Landings Security responded to the area of Landings Way North and Bartram Road regarding a report of a reckless driver. The vehicle was described as a Mercedes or BMW driven by a young male. Reportedly, the male was driving at a high rate of speed and passing other vehicles in the area. Currently, he has not been identified.
Warnings and Citations
- Warnings and fines were issued to vendors for not displaying logos on RFID-equipped vehicles and/or for not using safety cones.
- A warning was issued for an unregistered golf cart.
- A warning was issued for overnight street parking.
- Warnings were issued to residents for placing dry trash curbside prior to 24 hours of pickup.
