Between September 5 at 9 a.m. and September 6 at 9 a.m., two fish feeders at the Kid’s Lagoon #56 adjacent to the fire station located off Log Landing Road were vandalized. Vandalism to the feeders has occurred previously. Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) and I, Tim Cook, are offering a combined $500 reward for the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators. Chatham County Police Department responded, and anonymous tips can be called into TLA Security (912-598-5524), or CCPD (912-652-6500). Again, a $500 reward is being offered.

Single Golf Cart Crash

On September 7, Security was notified by a resident First Responder of a driver pinned under an overturned golf cart. CCPD and CES responded. The crash involved a single golf cart, and the exact cause of the crash was unknown. The driver of the cart received on-site medical attention by Skidaway Island First Responders, and CES then transported to a local hospital for more advanced care.

Tidewater Square

On September 10, Security responded to Captain Ferguson Lane regarding a loose German Shephard that jumped on a resident walking their dog, causing them to fall. Initial attempts to contact the dog’s owner were unsuccessful. Security will follow up, and the incident was forwarded to Chatham Animal Services.

Large Trucks in Tidewater Square

Security received an email with pictures of large trucks using Tidewater Square, which is a prohibited area for large trucks and trucks that are not providing direct services for homes located on the square. The company owning the truck was contacted and fined. Security staff attending the ASIS GSX convention spoke with several vendors who provide mobile video solutions. These types of mobile video surveillance may be used to assist enforcement efforts in this area as well as other applications in “hot” areas to address other issues such as the vandalism to the fish feeders at the Kid’s Fishing Lagoon.

Annual ASIS GSX Convention

Tim Cook, Sgt. Bundy, Sgt. Waclawski, and Sgt. Roberts attended the ASIS GSX Convention in Atlanta, Georgia and participated in several informative sessions, including best practices for hiring, diversity & inclusion, workplace violence, and video redaction and privacy. We also met with several vendors on the exhibit floor.
