Landlovers Plant Strong / Plant Based 101 & Beyond Have you heard about the power of a plant-based diet for reducing inflammation and possibly weight, lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, increasing your energy level, and impacting your overall well-being? The new Plant Strong of Skidaway Island group is hosting a panel discussion on Monday, January 10, at 6 p.m. in The Landings Association’s Conference Room (600 Landings Way South) on the benefits of a whole food plant based (WFPB) way of eating.  Panelists will include Landings Club leaders and sports professionals. Whether WFPB is new to you, or you are already living this way, come join us for this presentation and be on the cutting veg! For more information, email Simone Heyman (simoneheymanwfpb@gmail.com). Seating will be limited. Landlovers Cocktails with Friends On January 20, please join us or host a group of friends for cocktails in your home. We make the arrangements, and guests provide their own cocktails and an appetizer to share. For more information, email Kathy Powers (kopowers@gmail.com) or Jeanette Graebener (jbg1972@comcast.net), or visit  www.landlingslandlovers.com/activities.   Gayle Bina, Deb Werner, and Karyn Rohan enjoy cocktails with friends in November.   Bob Graebener, Gus Urzua, and John Saucier share a few laughs   Landlovers Ladies 9-Holers All Landings Club golf members who are also Landlovers with a basic understanding of the rules, pace of play, and have a GHIN # are welcome to join the Landlovers Ladies-9 Holers every Tuesday. Our focus is on fun, with a casual get-together after play. On Tuesday, January 25, help celebrate the State of Georgia and National Peanut Butter Day. (The day is recognized on the 24th, but we play on Tuesdays!) For each 28-ounce or larger jar of peanut butter that you bring for the Second Harvest Food Bank, you’ll receive a ticket for a prize drawing. Each jar also will be matched with a jar of grape jelly. Peanuts are the official crop of Georgia, with nearly 50% of the United States’ peanut crop grown here, and more than 50% of those peanuts are used in the production of peanut butter. More peanut facts will be coming your way soon. For more information, email Jan Rosenbaum (Landloverladies9@gmail.com). Landlovers Wine Tasting Evening Mark your calendars! Landlovers will host a premium Wine Tasting and Food Pairings evening at Marshwood on Tuesday, February 8, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. This event is open to all Landlovers members, and Landings Club membership is not required.
