Score Prizes at Audubon Tourney

It won’t take a low score to go home a winner at Skidaway Audubon’s May 23 FUNdraiser golf tournament. Besides offering awards to the best in each division, event organizers have amassed a bevy of enticing prizes for its popular pick-a-prize raffle. 

Set for the Terrapin Point and Palmetto courses, the tournament includes a Floating Green contest, a twist on Beat the Pros – a Beat the Kids Challenge, a happy hour/reception, presentations, awards, and a pick-a-prize raffle. The $150 entry fee includes raffle tickets and the reception. Register at the pro shop or at skidawayaudubon.org by the May 17 deadline. 

Lucky winners will be going home with some highly desirable prize packages, including the following: 

  •  $145 gift certificate from the Landings Golf Car Center good for a bit of pampering for your hard-working golf cart, including a wash and wax (excludes enclosure) and general maintenance. 

  • $100 gift certificate for GW Fins, one of the premier restaurants of New Orleans. Located on Bienville and Bourbon Street in the heart of the French Quarter, this stylish restaurant features a creative seafood menu for discerning tastes. Prepare to take your taste buds on a flavorful and exciting journey! 

  • $100 gift certificate from Habersham Beverage Warehouse, valid at their Abercorn Street location. Habersham Beverage is family-owned and operated and has been voted Best of Savannah for 30 consecutive years! Let’s drink to that! 

  • Signed copy of Sarah Lucas’ popular book, Fun with the Fairway Foxes, a beautiful 60-page hardback that is a must-have for every Landings resident and everyone, young and old, who loves nature. This prize package, valued at $125 and donated by Sarah Lucas and Brenda Ecken, includes a signed 8”x10” canvas print of a photo from the book. 

  • $150 gift certificate from Pure Shine Auto Wash. Pure Shine Auto Wash will thoroughly wash the exterior of your car at your home on Skidaway Island, clean the windows, rims, and tires, hand dry the exterior, and apply a wax/sealant for the kind of shine and protection your car deserves. 

  • $50 gift certificate from River Street Sweets, which features an array of amazing, handmade southern candies, including its world-famous pralines. This Savannah landmark has been making mouths water with their heavenly confections for nearly 50 years. 

  • $150 gift certificate towards carpet, upholstery, or ceramic tile cleaning services from Good Deal Carpet & Tile Cleaning, a family-owned Savannah company voted Best Carpet Cleaning Company in Savannah for the past two years. 

  • $50 gift certificate from Treylor Park Double Wide Diner (135 West Bay St.), where diners can enjoy “comfort food with a twist”. And Fido is welcomed! This unique restaurant allows dogs in their outdoor beer garden. 

  • A set of adorable children’s books and a colorful Macaw print by Phyllis L. Tildes, Savannah’s own, award-winning children’s book author and illustrator. These playful stories and beautiful illustrations will engage even the youngest readers. Valued at $104 and donated by Phyllis L. Tildes. 

  • Guided, hop-on, hop-off tour of the Hostess City for two. Sit back, relax, and enjoy historic homes along cobblestone streets under moss-draped oaks. Valued at $70 and donated by Old Savannah Tours. 

  • Landings Art Association Collage Tick-Tock Clock. This one-of-a-kind clock, valued at $100 and donated by Caroline Ambrose, is a fanciful work of art as well as a unique timepiece. It measures 9”x 9” and is battery operated. 

  • Bloody Mary Basket, including 1 liter of Tito’s Handmade Vodka and two 32-fluid ounces of Seaside Grown Bloody Mary Mix to make the perfect mixed beverage, valued at $34 and donated by Savannah Distributing Company, Inc. 

  • 750 ML bottle of Basil Hayden Dark Rye. Enjoy a depth of flavor and the comfort of heat without the overwhelming burn, with a rich and inviting color. Valued at $60 and donated by National Distributors. Cheers to you! 

  • 1 L bottle of Basil Hayden Bourbon, aged to the perfect expression of its novel, spicy flavor profile, from the family of Jim Beam small batch bourbons. Enjoy it neat, or on the rocks on a hot summer evening. Valued at $85 and donated by National Distributors. 

This annual event is Audubon’s one big fundraiser of the year. The tournament enables Audubon to maintain the largest network of bluebird houses in the Southeast, the largest Diamondback Terrapin rescue project in the Southeast, a state-of-the-art bird cam, an invasive tree removal program, a garden to help reverse the worldwide loss of pollinating insects, bat houses to reduce mosquito populations, and weather stations to promote water-saving irrigation practices. It also funds special events, such as educational, live wildlife presentations, and environmental awareness and stewardship initiatives. To enter a team or become a hole sponsor for the May 23 tournament, visit skidawayaudubon.org
