Messiah Lutheran Observes Virtual National Day of Prayer on May 7

Please join Messiah Lutheran Church and Pastor Talsness for a virtual service in observance of The National Day of Prayer on May 7 at 7 p.m. All ministers on the island and the Priest at St. James will participate. For more information and to access the event, visit messiahsi.org and follow the link to YouTube.

The National Day of Prayer was signed into law in 1952. Skidaway Island observance began in 1997 with the neighborhood Bible Study volunteers, who did all the planning.

Through the years, there have been many changes to this event, including the time of the service, the clergy taking over the service plans (Pastor Talsness organized this year’s virtual service), and we now have all the island churches participating.
