Theft

Security and Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) responded to a residence on Tidewater Way for a theft report on Tuesday, March 9. After waking up that morning, the resident noticed several items missing from her home. The missing items included a laptop, an iPad, a printer, bank and credit card information, and some sentimental documents. CCPD is investigating.

Theft

On Monday, March 8, Security responded to a residence on Oysterwood Lane for a report of theft. The resident advised that a cordless drill and charger valued at approximately $200 was missing from his garage. The resident advised that he did not notice any signs of forced entry, so he might have left the door unlocked. A few people had access to the area, but he did not believe any of them had taken the items. The resident did not want to make a report with CCPD.

Vehicle Accident

On Friday, March 5, Security and Chatham CCPD responded to the intersection of Diamond Causeway of McWhorter Drive for a two-vehicle accident between residents. The driver of the first vehicle was making a left turn onto McWhorter Drive when she struck the second vehicle exiting the community. Both drivers believed it was their turn to proceed through the intersection, and CCPD could not determine who was at fault. Both vehicles were removed from the scene via tow trucks, and both drivers had some minor injuries which did not require EMS support.

Hit and Run

A resident on Lillibridge Crossing reported a hit and run incident on Tuesday, March 9. The resident stated a family member parked his vehicle in front of her home between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. During that time, another vehicle sideswiped it, causing damage to the driver’s side door. The resident requested CCPD for a report and advised that she would check with neighbors to see if anyone may have noticed anything regarding the incident.
