Reminder: Main Gate Closed for Road Resurfacing (August 17-21)

Beginning Monday, August 17, the Main Gate will be closed for resurfacing (both the entrance and exit lanes). Barring delays, Bennett Paving is scheduled to complete this project by August 22, at which time the Main Gate will be reopened for use.

Your Association understands that there never is a convenient time to close the Main Gate and would not be scheduling this project now if it were not vitally important that the work be done immediately, according to reviews by multiple engineers. Projects like this one is an example of why properly funding our Capital Reserves is so important.

The asphalt is failing along the entry and exit lanes due to a combination of age, usage, and a deteriorating base caused by water intrusion, heavy traffic (approximately 5,500 vehicles enter through the Main Gate each day), and the formation of potholes and subsequent asphalt failures.

To help you navigate the island while this work is taking place, detour instructions are outlined below, or you can click here to view the map. Signage also will be placed throughout the community to help guide residents and guests through the detours.

Midpoint residents: Please use the North/Marshwood Gate (located on McWhorter Drive) for entry/exit. An alternate route is via Brandenberry Road to Yam Gandy Road, then take a right on Landings Way South and a left on Westcross Road, which will lead you to the Oakridge Gate.

Residents north of Tidewater Way (including those traveling to Landings Harbor Marina): Please use the North/Marshwood Gate (located on McWhorter Drive) for entry and exit.

Residents south of Tidewater Way (including those traveling to Delegal Creek Marina): Please use the Oakridge Gate via Westcross Road for entry and exit.

It is important to note that there will not be any disruption to persons traveling on Landings Way North and Landings Way South directly behind the Main Gate.

Thank you in advance for your patience and support as The Public Works Department continues to improve the infrastructure located throughout the community. Please watch your email for more details regarding this project as they become available. We also will send an email when the Main Gate is reopened.
