Marinas Update

The summer boating activities have been as hot as the weather, and the Marinas are at full capacity. The staff continue to make improvements to the properties and daily operations to better assist residents of the Marinas. Our new Marinas’ team members are up to speed and continue to bring fresh ideas and insight to the daily operations.

Both Marinas continue to adhere to safety precautions regarding COVID-19 by using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and cleaning commonly used areas to maintain a safe environment for boaters. Please be sure that you are doing your part to keep us all in the safe zone.

Recently, the Marinas acted on the terms within the lease agreements and issued written notice to all non-resident boaters occupying storage space. Due to the waiting list of residents requesting dry storage and wet slip space, the non-residents’ lease agreements have been cancelled. The Landings Marinas are one of the best amenities available to enjoy the outdoors, who

Delegal Creek Marina attracts boaters and outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds, including kayakers and paddleboarders. The natural beauty surrounding the southern end of Skidaway Island is unbeatable, breathtaking, and memorable to all. Half-day and full-day kayak rentals are available from Delegal Creek Marina. Bring sunscreen and a cool drink to take along. We will provide life jackets and paddles. Our Ship’s Store is always stocked with cool refreshments, snacks, and plenty of ice to keep you cool and hydrated all day.

Landings Harbor Marina dry storage operation has seen its busiest summer recorded. Weekend boat launches average more than 100 per day, if the weather cooperates. Extended summer hours have greatly helped keep dock space available for late-day boaters returning to the Harbor after hours. Launch reservations during the weekend are mostly full, both on Saturday and Sunday. If you cannot seem to secure a launch time using the BoatCloud app, simply show up and ask our friendly staff to make an “unscheduled” launch. A short 10-to-15-minute wait is all you may experience before we should have your boat pulled and ready to splash. Be sure to keep social distancing in mind, as you may find yourself among others who are waiting as well.

The Ship’s Store at the Harbor is receiving new items to help you maintain your boat in tip-top shape. A variety of new line items are being stocked with you and your boat in mind. New doggy life jackets are available for your pet in small, medium, and large sizes. If you need new dock lines, we are stocked with black, white, and blue lines along with Kuuma tumblers and can coolers that work as well as a Yeti for half the price. Some supplies still are a bit difficult to get from our suppliers, so keep checking in for more cool boating items to arrive. Leopold’s ice cream is back in stock to help cool you off during the dog days of summer.

Plans are in place for the 2020 Hook Race on Saturday, August 22. Some of the shoreside events are being adjusted to meet the social distancing and crowd control parameters. Skidaway Island Boat Club is the lead coordinator for the race, so keep your eyes and ears open for additional details as they become available.

We look forward to seeing you at the Marinas!
