Landlovers NewsÂ
The Landings Landlovers was established in 1974. Our purpose is to promote fellowship through social and cultural activities while working toward the continued improvement of community life in The Landings through our philanthropic efforts.Â
Philanthropy is the hallmark of Landlovers. It provides support for nonprofit groups and service organizations and scholarship opportunities for The Landings Association’s and The Landings Company’s employees and their dependents. In addition, Community Service Merit Awards are provided to deserving college-bound high school seniors living in The Landings. All of the money is raised by member volunteers who organize a variety of events to fund these philanthropic endeavors.Â
Landlovers also provides members the opportunity to socialize and nurture existing friendships and begin new ones through a series of varied activities and clubs, including bunco, bridge, canasta, book club, photography, green thumb club, men’s lunch club, community service, and many more. You can learn more about Landlovers’ activities through our website (landingslandlovers.com).Â

Landlovers ActivitiesÂ
Getting Ready for a Fun New SeasonÂ
As the new Landlovers Activity Chairs, we welcome back all the folks who participated last year, and we look forward to meeting those of you who will be new to Landlovers and all our wonderful activities! This will be a challenging year for everyone. None of us knows what the future holds regarding social distancing and the numbers of folks who will be allowed/willing to get together.Â
Thanks to the creativity of our members leading the activities, who have come up with some unique and safe ways to continue with our events. There are several activities we have been asked about, and we are looking for members who are interested in taking on leadership roles. Would you be interested in heading up a walking group, biking group, dining out group, playing croquet, book group, etc.? Do you have any other ideas that can bring folks together to share an interest or hobby?Â
We want all of our members to enjoy our activities. However, we are very mindful that, first and foremost, doing all of this safely and following all guidelines from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will be of utmost importance! Look for more information on Landlovers Activities as the summer progresses!Â
If you have an interest in getting involved or have any questions, please contactÂ
Mary Schmidt (schmidt4nd@gmail.com or 703-401-1621) or Laurie Milano (lamilano@aol.com or 914-474-4943).Â
