As the world slowly reopens, sales at The Landings Company have exploded! 

Although sales had been remarkably strong while our office was closed for COVID-19 and Discovery Guests were not able to visit, June was exceptional since our reopening on June 1. 

The chart below reflects showing data collected from the digital lockboxes of all island listings. As you can see, even with our office closed, our agents, along with the agents of other firms, were showing homes at a rate 22% higher than one year ago in May. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At the Company, we began the year with January and February outpacing last year’s record. By mid-March and as our world started to change from the pandemic, we had to cancel roughly 100 Discovery Visits and close the office, virtually eliminating all sales traffic. We missed our budgeted sales for March by approximately 25% and April’s target by about 40%. But in May, things quickly swung back to the positive and, with no Discovery Visits, finished the month by reaching the month’s original budget developed pre-pandemic. In mid-June, we exceeded the pre-pandemic budget for the entire month and ended the month with year-to-date sales on target with the original goal for the first half of the year. I could not be prouder of our team, both agents and staff, and their quick pivot to operate remotely and much differently than our norm to accomplish these amazing stats. 

Given these results, The Landings’ current inventory of housing represents a 4.0-month supply, which is exactly the level at which the National Association of Realtors and others refer to as a balanced market where neither the buyer nor seller are advantaged. 

Also, after nearly three months without Discovery Visitors, we are quickly booking visits at pre-Covid levels, and those that are making reservations are very motivated to get to a less dense, safer environment like The Landings.
