Update: LED Streetlights Coming Soon to The Landings

In November, we sent several communications to the community, which provided an overview of the new LED lighting options that Georgia Power currently has on the market. Two test lights were installed at the intersections of Landings Way South and Activity Drive and Westcross Road and Franklin Creek Road South. Staff encouraged the Board and community to evaluate the test lights and provide feedback.

Most of the comments received were questions that required clarification and a brief history of the project, along with comments from property owners in favor of the more reliable, sustainable, and energy-efficient lighting.

Public Works team members will meet with Georgia Power representatives in February to discuss the implementation process and timeline to retrofit the more than 240 streetlights in The Landings.

As a reminder, The Landings Association will not incur any additional expense for these upgrades. The Public Works Department was able to successfully negotiate a zero percent increase with Georgia Power to switch our current outdated cobra heads (high-pressure sodium light fixtures) with new LED lighting.

Throughout this project, we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.  If you have questions about the project, please email pwmanagers@landings.org.
