Sunset Sips Featuring Chatham County Animal Services

The February Sunset Sips program was held Thursday night (February 22), featuring Dr. Jake Harper, Director of Chatham County Animal Services. He addressed the concerns of rabies and distemper in racoons in our area, as well as other wildlife species that may be present in The Landings. He spent nearly 45 minutes answering questions to make sure that all in attendance (around 45 people) were comfortable and confident with the information.

Dr. Harper produced a short Rabies FAQ Sheet for participants. His two points of emphasis were: 1) assume all racoons have rabies and do not interact with them, and 2) make sure all pets are properly vaccinated against rabies.
