Chimney Swift Cove Installation

This week, The Public Works Department partnered with the Chimney Cove Group (Audubon subcommittee) to build and install a nesting habitat for the common Chimney Swift. The nesting habitat for these birds has been greatly reduced as more homeowners have started covering their chimneys. This faux “chimney” was installed at the corner of Priest Landing and Landings Way North and can house nearly 200 birds!

Gate Sod Replacement

BrightView, in conjunction with GCR of the Lowcountry, replaced the St. Augustine turf at the Moon River and Marshview Landing gates (located on Green Island Road) with New Empire Zoysia this week. As a reminder, the costs associated with the sod replacement are included within our landscape contract with BrightView to further enhance and improve the areas around the gates.
