Hurricane Helene Preparations

The Public Works Department, in conjunction with BrightView, prepared for Hurricane Helene’s potential impact on the community. Preparations included cleaning and clearing debris from storm drains, sweeping the streets, collecting downfall on center islands, and rights-of-way and courtyards, as well as performing checks on facility generators and small and heavy machinery to ensure all equipment and vehicles are ready for storm clean-up. This included topping off the fuel tanks and ensuring they are fully anchored.

2024 Storm Drain Project

Southeast Pipe continued working on this year’s storm drain project in Area 1 (along Bartram Road from the four-way to Priest Landing Drive) this week. This project is anticipated to take approximately two months to complete.

Community Park Restroom Closure

The men’s restroom located at Landings Community Park remains closed to allow staff and its contractors time to renovate the facility. Once the renovations have been completed, staff will send out a communication informing residents and guests about the reopening of the facility. In the interim, the women’s restroom is open for all individuals to use.
