The Landings Association's (TLA) Natural Resource Manager Greg Freeman will kick off Skidaway Audubon’s popular speaker series on Thursday, September 19, with a timely topic: wildlife management at The Landings. His talk will provide attendees with extensive information about deer, alligators, and many other aspects of his challenging work in this diverse island environment.

Freeman joined TLA one year ago. He has worked with wildlife for more than 25 years. He has spent most of his career in the Southeastern Coastal Plain, with stints in South Carolina, Texas, Colorado, and Georgia. Working within similar residential developments, he has faced many of the same wildlife challenges seen in The Landings.

Freeman received his B.S. in Biology from Newberry College, and his M.S. in Environmental Policy from Purdue University. He is a Quality Deer Management Association Certified Deer Steward, a Quail Unlimited Certified Conservator, a Clemson University Master Wildlifer, a National Sporting Clays Association Level Two Shooting Instructor, a NRA Certified Range Safety Officer, a Certified Armorer, and a Certified Prescribed Fire Manager.

His presentation is slated for 4 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. All are welcome to attend. Admission is free for members of Friends of Skidaway Audubon (FOSA), and $5 for guests, payable at the door. Attendees are asked to pre-register online (SkidawayAudubon.org).

Skidaway Audubon’s mission is to enhance and conserve Skidaway Island’s natural environment. In addition to implementing a wide variety of projects, it strives to promote environmental awareness through education and outreach.
