Theft
On Monday, March 18, at approximately 11:25 p.m., Security and Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) responded to a residence on Modena Road in reference to a theft. The resident reported that someone in a golf cart had entered their unlocked vehicle and stolen their wallet, money, and gun. The suspect is unknown. Extra patrols were performed throughout the night.
A resident on Little Comfort Road notified Security the following morning that her unlocked vehicle had been entered at some point during the night. The resident stated that someone had rummaged through her center console and glove box. The only thing she noticed missing was a seatbelt cutter.
Vandalism
On Thursday, March 14, Security responded to the gazebo off Log Landing Road for a report of vandalism. Upon arrival, the Officer noticed that one of the swings in the area had been pulled into the lagoon, and the seat of the swing had been pulled away from the wood. It is unknown when the incident occurred or who may have done it. A SeeClickFix was submitted.
Traffic Safety
The Guardian Pro Traffic Camera remained on Yam Gandy Road near Brandenberry Road. From March 13 to March 14, the system recorded eight violations, with the highest recorded speed being 45 MPH. The system was inoperable for a portion of the week. Staff worked with TrafficLogix to resolve the issue. Three courtesy notices for vehicles identified as traveling more than the posted speed limit were sent.
TLA Rules and Regulations Enforcement
- Warnings were issued to commercial vendors for not having safety cones, working after commercial hours, no logos on RFID-equipped vehicles, and driving through Tidewater Square.
- A $50 fine was issued to a vendor for not having safety cones.
- Warnings were issued to residents for the following reasons:
- Having a boat and/or trailer parked overnight.
- Overnight parking on the street.
- Placing yard debris on common property.
- The following fines were issued to residents:
- Three $49 fines for overnight parking on the street.
- A $100 for parking a boat and/or trailer overnight.
- Two $49 fines for daytime parking on the street exceeding eight hours per day.
