Young Artists Needed to Tell Their Story in Paint

It's A Fishy Tale For Sure! Image What’s true? What’s not? These days, it’s sometimes hard to know. One thing is for sure, CCA Skidaway is looking for island youngsters from five to 15 years old to express their creativity through painting a fish’s tail. Why a fish’s tail? Well, this isn’t any old fish tail, but the tail of a redfish, one of the great gamefish in our coastal waters and a species that was restored to abundance by the efforts of the CCA in recent decades. Indeed, the theme for our annual CCA banquet is Our Tail of Success, in recognition of this conservation accomplishment.

With this in mind, we are looking for youngsters to paint these redfish tails that will become our table centerpieces at the banquet and each will be an expression of our “fishy tale.”

We will gather at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Saturday, March 30. Volunteers from the Landings Art Association (LAA) will be on hand to lend their expertise helping each child enhance their artistic skills. ImageCCA will provide all artist supplies, refreshments, and pizza. Judging will take place at the end of the session and prizes will be awarded for the different age groups.

This event is limited to 10 children. For more information contact Paulette Hamilton (sushi1103@mac.com or 610-509-0279).
