On the Security Scene
Cyclist Fatality
On Sunday, March 10, Security was notified of an incident involving a bicyclist and a golf cart on the cart path bridge between Islanders’ Retreat and the Deer Creek Clubhouse. The call was transferred to the Landings Golf & Athletic Club Security, who responded to the incident. Chatham Emergency Services also responded. The driver of the cart stated they stopped and allowed the cyclist room to pass. After passing the cart, the cyclist lost control of the bicycle and fell into the marsh. The cyclist was transported to a local hospital. Sadly, we learned that the cyclist has passed away. If there are any witnesses to the incident, please contact Landings Security (912-598-1982, option 2).

Residents, guests, vendors, and employees are reminded to operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner while remaining in compliance with traffic laws and community speed limits which are 30 MPH unless otherwise posted.
