Joint Pine Straw Meeting with TLC

On Monday, Greg Freeman and Sean Burgess, along with The Landings Golf & Athletic Club representatives, met with Ground Cover Solutions to view an application of environmentally friendly pigment on pine straw. This type of pigment is being explored to responsibly maintain the appearance of flower beds/common areas for six-to-eight months that is both ecologically responsible and cost/labor effective.  Currently, the gate and amenity areas receive an application of pine straw twice a year, and center islands once a year.

Center Island Planting Program

Public Works Staff, in conjunction with BrightView, completed the annual center island planting program this week. A total of 170 plants were installed at 35 locations. The new plants were installed to not only enhance the center islands, but also replaced specimen plants that had to be removed last year. The plants varieties included live oaks, two varieties of red bud, sawtooth palmettos, and flax lilies.

2024 Road Repair and Replacement Project

Bennett Paving completed milling and paving Sea Lavender this week. Due to the weather, the remaining road work scheduled for this week was postponed. Bennett Paving will resume working on the project the second week of February.

Absolute Concrete completed curb repairs on Magnolia Crossing and drainage repairs on Bent Tree Circle this week. They will continue to work on roadway curb repairs ahead of this year’s road paving project.
