Skidaway Audubon News:Â Audubon Spotlights Bethesda in February
Bethesda Academy’s Institutional Advancement Director John Reddan will be Skidaway Audubon’s guest speaker Thursday, February 15, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
Reddan will speak on How Bethesda Saved Oglethorpe’s Savannah and Who We Are Today. Founded as an orphanage in 1740 by George Whitfield, Bethesda is now an academy that has served boys from sixth through twelfth grade since 1992. In addition to its school facilities, chapel, and museum, Bethesda Academy features a wildlife management program, an organic farming program and a wide variety of athletic teams.
Reddan was named head of institutional advancement and business development at Bethesda Academy in 2016, bringing 15 years of executive leadership in the nonprofit sector. He has served on the Boards of the Flannery O'Connor Childhood Home, Senior Citizens Incorporated, and the Caretta Research Foundation. His presentation is slated for 4 p.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. All are welcomed to attend. Admission is free for members of Friends of Skidaway Audubon (FOSA), and $5 for guests (payable online or at the door). Attendees are asked to preregister online at SkidawayAudubon.org.
Skidaway Audubon’s mission is to enhance and conserve Skidaway Island’s natural environment. In addition to implementing a wide variety of projects, it strives to promote environmental awareness through education and outreach.
