Dogs at Large

Recently, Landings Security responded to two loose dog calls. The dog owners were contacted and both incidents were reported to Chatham County Animal Services for their files in case of ongoing issues in the future.

Vandalism

On October 22, Landings Security discovered the bathrooms at Landings Community Park, adjacent to The Landings Association office, had been trashed. Someone had vomited several times in the men’s bathroom and failed to notify anyone or attempt to clean it up. Video footage of the area is being reviewed and TLA Security is in the process of identifying juveniles of interest in the area between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Unaccompanied Fishing

On October 18, Landings Security identified a guest fishing in lagoon #18 without his sponsoring Landings Resident. The guest was reminded about TLA’s unaccompanied fishing Rule and departed without incident. A letter was sent to the sponsoring resident reminding them about the Rule and fines for any future violations.

Traffic Logix Guardian Pro

The traffic trailer equipped with radar and a camera was deployed on October 23 adjacent to Landings Way South. The speed limit is 35 MPH, and a tolerance of 7 MPH was calibrated in the system. Initial reports documented more than 700 vehicles, which appear to have exceeded 42 MPH.  The reports will be analyzed, the system recalibrated and verified, and residents exceeding the speed limits will start receiving reminder letters to support our safety efforts and remain in compliance with posted speed limits.
