Skidaway Audubon News:  Raptor and Reptile Showcase Oct. 28

What’s better than ghosts and goblins? How about real-life, creepy-crawly reptiles and massive birds of prey? Start your Halloween weekend with Georgia Southern University's (GSU) Wildlife Education Center as it brings both its raptor and its reptile shows to The Landings on Saturday, October 28.

All are welcomed to come get up-close looks at majestic hawks, tiny owls, and the Georgia Southern mascot, Freedom the bald eagle, as well as a variety of fascinating reptiles. The very popular, special event gets underway at 1 p.m. at Landings Community Park (600 Landings Way). This unique opportunity to view and learn about local birds of prey and other wildlife is presented by Skidaway Audubon

There is no fee for this family-friendly event. Cameras are permitted, however, pets and food are prohibited.

The mission of Skidaway Audubon is to educate and engage residents in programs designed to protect, conserve and enhance the island’s natural resources. Membership in Friends of Skidaway Audubon helps fund programs that raise environmental awareness within the community. Family memberships begin at just $35.
