Residential Structure Fire

On July 8, Landings Security, Chatham Emergency Services (CES), and Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) responded to a residential structure fire on Log Landing Road. Upon arrival, smoke and flames were visible. CES conducted a search of the structure for possible occupants and extinguished the fire. No one was home at the time, and no one was injured because of the fire. CES believes the cause of the fire was a lightning strike.

 

Wildlife – Alligator

On July 8, Landings Security responded to an alligator behind lagoon 71 near The Rookery. Upon Security’s arrival, the alligator was noticed in the lagoon. However, it was not bothering anyone in the area fishing.

Fishing

On July 9, Landings Security responded to a report of three individuals fishing from the floating dock at Delegal Creek Marina. Upon contact, the individuals were advised that fishing was not permitted from the floating dock, only from the fixed pier.

Warnings and Citations

  • Warnings and fines were issued to vendors for not displaying logos on RFID-equipped vehicles and/or for not using safety cones.
  • Warnings were issued to residents for placing dry trash curbside prior to 24 hours of pickup.
  • A warning was issued to a resident for driving a golf cart in a cart-free zone.
  • A warning was issued for a boat and trailer parked in the driveway.
