The Landings Association Closing to Walk-in Traffic Today (September 29) at 1 p.m.

The Landings Association, including Public Works and the Marinas, will close to walk-in traffic at 1 p.m. today to secure assets and ensure staff have time to travel home safely in advance of Tropical Storm Ian’s arrival in our area. Team members will continue to serve residents remotely today. The office will remain closed to walk-in traffic tomorrow (September 30), with staff continuing to work remotely. Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) continues to track Tropical Storm Ian. At its 10 a.m. Briefing, CEMA shared that Ian has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm and is expected to reach our area early tomorrow morning (September 30). It is forecasted to bring high winds and heavy rain. Coastal areas may see up to six inches of rain, while inland areas could see up to four inches. There still is the potential for localized flooding, power outages, and isolated tornados. However, CEMA officials stated that Chatham County’s tornado risk has decreased. 

Georgia Power crews expect and are preparing for power outages in our area. Georgia Power officials remind residents that for quicker resolution, it is best to report outages from the outage location via its Outage & Storm Center. Click here to read more from Georgia Power about preparing for the storm.
