CCA October 11 Meeting

Fall and Winter Inshore Fishing Tips and Techniques Inshore fishing tips and techniques during the fall and winter months is the topic of the CCA of Skidaway’s October meeting and seminar on Monday, October 11, at St. Peter’s Church, beginning at 7 p.m. The speaker is Captain Garrett Ross, owner/operator of Flex Appeal Charters and fishing boat captain with Miss Judy Charters. Captain Ross will talk about angling around Skidaway Island and the Savannah inshore waterways and sounds. Fall and winter are great times to catch spotted sea trout and spottail bass (a.k.a. red drum) and channel/stag bass. His years of experience in these waters have given him a unique insight into the best ways to enjoy the sport of fishing in the coming months. Captain Ross says, “If you want to get to know the ways of a fish, you’ve got to spend more time trying to catch them!” Coming from a military family, Ross also served in the military. He has lived and fished the waters of the East Coast, West Coast, and Great Lakes. He came to Savannah in 2009 and spent some time in various area industries, including a stint with Gulfstream Aerospace. He has been chartering as a subcontractor with Miss Judy Charters for seven years and has become an expert on angling area waters, CCA’s October raffle prize will be an inshore fishing charter outing with Captain Ross. The value of this prize is $400. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the seminar location on the night of the event.
