Landings Harbor Marina

New staff members are in training at the marinas as we prepare for a busy summer boating season.

Marinas Store

New apparel is arriving daily in the ship’s store in preparation of the summer boating season. Stop by and find the perfect sun hat. Water wicking and UV shirts also are available in a variety of styles and colors.

Tiki Hut

Mark Piven, the Marinas Committee Chair along with Landing’s residents Randy Gaston, Ed Shapoff, and Greg Maloof helped put the finishing touches on the Tiki Bar top this week. Members from the Sailing Club are scheduled to do a light sanding followed by a special oil application that will protect the wood from the UV rays this coming Friday.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Landings Harbor Dredging Project

Estate Management transported their dredge to Hydradyne located in Pooler, Georgia for repairs on Monday morning. A replacement dredge arrived Tuesday and was launched Wednesday to continue the project. The backup dredge is a smaller version that has a slight restriction with its depth reach. This dredge will mainly operate during an ebb tide and into the flood tide.

Dry Storage

Weekly dry storage boat moves increased by more than 100 from last week with the heaviest activity during the weekends. With this increase in dry storage activity staff have moved to our summer hours one week earlier than scheduled. Dry storage will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Saturday and Sunday beginning May 29, 2021.

The Landings Sailing Program

Sixteen members took advantage of the super flower blood moon in a late evening sail on the Wilmington River on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Weekend activity remains high as the membership grows to more than 30 in the sailing program.

Delegal Creek Marina

Delegal Creek Marina

Staff repaired several dock box hinges and hasps during the week as part of our in-house project asset protection plan. Other assets including the rental kayaks are also being upgraded and repaired in preparation of the upcoming boating season.

With the unfortunate boating incident this past week at Delegal Creek Marina, all boaters are reminded of the new USCG regulation requiring the use of Engine Cut-off switches on vessels less than 26 feet. Boaters are encouraged to check the U.S. Coast Guard website for additional information on this new use requirement and other safety regulations and recommendations.

 

Marina Occupancy

Delegal Creek Marina is at maximum occupancy. The staff is now utilizing a waiting list for Landing’s property owners looking for accommodations for their vessels.
