Thefts

On Friday, April 9, Security responded to a residence on Peregrine Crossing for a report of theft. The resident advised that a wheelbarrow used to transport bulk trash to the curb was missing, although Chatham County had not picked up the bulk trash yet. The responding officer explained that people pick through bulk trash and take items they want on pick-up day. The officer advised the resident not to leave items at the curb that could be mistaken for bulk trash. The incident was not reported to CCPD.

Security responded to a residence on Moonglade Lane for a report of theft on Friday, April 9. The resident advised that a wheelbarrow used to transport yard debris to the curb on Monday was missing. She also stated that she noticed contractors nearby breaking down concrete and was unsure if they may have dumped the trash and possibly used the wheelbarrow for the concrete. CCPD was not notified.

On Friday, April 9, a resident on Sweet William Retreat stopped by the Main Gate to inform Security that a wheelbarrow used to transport a toilet to the curb for bulk trash pick-up was missing. The resident stated that the purpose of the wheelbarrow was to keep the toilet elevated so the County employees collecting the trash would not have to bend down to lift it. He noticed the wheelbarrow was missing at approximately noon, but the bulk trash items still were present. This incident is the second time that the resident has had a wheelbarrow stolen from his property. The incident was not reported to CCPD.

A resident on Peregrine Crossing reported to Security that his wheelbarrow had been stolen on Tuesday, April 13. The resident stated that he had placed his yard debris in the wheelbarrow that morning for dry trash pickup that day. When he returned from playing golf later in the day, he noticed that the wheelbarrow was missing. CCPD was not notified.
