An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure

Vaccinations, parasite prevention, rabies, and health certificates are basic prevention protocols for the well-being of your furry family member. The Landings Dog Park requires proof of vaccinations (Rabies, Bordatella, DHLP/Parvo) for all dogs before the issuance of a Dog Park tag. As a responsible pet owner, it’s important to discuss preventive care and treatments with your Veterinarian as they aid in your pet's health. Many parasites live in the grass and soil right outside your home and local park, making it easy for your pet to pick up. While there isn’t an approved product on the market to remove parasites from the turf and soil, preventive care programs can protect your furry friend against parasites. Preventing parasites and protecting the health of your pet is the responsibility of the pet owner. Responsible pet owners also clean up their pet’s dog poop before larvae has a chance to infiltrate into the turf and soil (which can cause parasites).  Additionally, if your dog has tested positive, please keep them home to help prevent the spread of parasites amongst the Dog Park. For more information, please reach out to your Veterinarian and visit the American Kennel Clubs’ website (www.akc.org) for expert advice on keeping your furry family member healthy and happy.
