Theft

On Tuesday, February 16, a resident notified Security of a recent theft. The resident advised that he had written a check to someone for some work done on his golf cart in September 2020. The check was placed in the mailbox for the individual to pick up later in the day. Although the check had not cleared his bank, the resident stated it was not unusual for this particular person. However, upon reviewing his bank statement, he noticed the check had been cashed recently for $300 more than initially written. Additionally, the check had been rewritten to an individual not known by the resident nor to the individual who performed the work, who could not recall if he had picked up the check. The resident notified his bank and made a report with Chatham County Police Department (CCPD).

Suspicious Incidents

On Thursday, February 11, around 11:15 p.m., Security responded to a residence on Tarrow Ridge Road for a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area. The complainant advised that she observed a car in the middle of Diamond Causeway near the median before turning onto Westcross Road to enter the Oakridge Gate. The vehicle also entered the Oakridge Gate and turned onto Tarrow Ridge Road. When she exited her car, the suspicious vehicle drove off and headed toward the Oakridge Fitness Center. Patrol officers searched the surrounding areas for the vehicle with negative results. The Avigilon video system was reviewed, and no vehicles entered or exited around the time of the report.
