Golf Cart vs. Vehicle Incident

Landings Security responded to a residence on Westcross Road on Sunday, August 9, for a report of a golf cart vs. vehicle incident. The resident advised that he was backing into his driveway from the street when a golf cart driving down the roadway struck the side of the vehicle. Although the resident provided the driver of the golf cart with his information, he was unable to obtain the driver’s information as the man was in a hurry to get home ahead of the approaching thunderstorm. The vehicle sustained minor damages, and the resident did not wish to file a report with CCPD.

Scam

On Thursday, August 6, a resident contacted Landings Security regarding a scam. The resident advised she had given $130 to a company on July 28 to purchase the materials necessary to complete work at her home. She stated that she has been unable to reach the two gentleman who work for the company as both phone numbers were disconnected. Security has not received any other reports or complaints regarding the company.

Neighbor Dispute

Security and Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) responded to a residence on Bartram Road on Friday, August 7. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the resident who advised that a juvenile male came on her property alleging that her daughter stole a pair of sunglasses from his friend. The resident stated the juvenile was very confrontational. Officers identified the young man as a South Harbor resident, who was a guest of a Landings resident and acting on her behalf. The sponsoring resident stated she had seen a post on social media and believed the Bartram Road resident’s daughter was in possession of her $200 sunglasses. Her friend (the South Harbor resident) had offered to go to the other girl’s house and ask for the glasses. Officers learned that the sunglasses in the online photo were not the missing pair. The officers advised the young man and his friend not to return to the residence on Bartram Road. The juvenile’s parents were informed of the incident and no criminal charges were filed.
