Marinas Update

Fall weather finally has made its way to the Marinas! These cooler temps are making the fish hungrier than ever, and we are seeing some very happy anglers. If you haven’t dropped a line or a net in the water lately, come out to see us and bring your friends to enjoy the cooler temperatures and beautiful setting. You may want to get some No-Natz spray, just in case.

Demand at both Marinas hasn’t slowed down with the fall chill. To meet the increased demand for space in dry storage at The Landings Harbor Marina, roofing was removed from certain sections of the dry racks to accommodate taller boats. The project went very smoothly, and many of the newly opened spaces already are filled. As boaters continue their trips along the Intracoastal Waterway, Delegal Creek has experienced an upward trend in short-term visitors as well, with 98% of their space occupied.

Along with our boating and picnicking visitors, the Marinas staff have seen a group of three manatees near The Landings Harbor Marina in recent weeks, including a cow and her calf. Seeing these gentle giants up close is fun, but it’s important to remember that they still are wildlife. I encourage boaters and visitors to take delight in observing the manatees, and all marine wildlife, from a respectful distance.

Finally, our next Boaters Meeting will be held in the Sunset Pavilion at Delegal Creek Marina on Sunday, November 17, at 2 p.m. All boaters are welcomed to attend, and I look forward to discussing the future of our Marinas with you.
