Vehicle Accident

Security, CES, and CCPD responded to a single-vehicle accident on Landings Way North between Wiley Bottom Road and Village Green Circle. The driver was identified as a permanent guest of a resident. She stated that she attempted to avoid hitting a deer, and when she swerved, she struck a tree. The driver was treated on location before being transported to the hospital. Security attempted to notify the resident sponsor for the guest but was unable to reach anyone. A tow truck responded to the scene to remove the vehicle. CCPD advised the driver would be cited for failure to maintain lane.

Thefts

On Friday, September 13, a resident called the Main Gate to report a theft from Landings Harbor Marina. The resident stated that she had placed two crab traps out on Wednesday evening, and when she checked them on Thursday morning, one of the traps was missing. The value of the trap is approximately $40. Staff is reviewing the video footage from the night in question. Additionally, Security patrols will monitor the area for anyone stealing traps.

On Monday, September 16, a resident reported a package stolen from her property on Marmaduke Lane. The resident stated that the package initially was to be delivered on Saturday. However, she received a notification from FedEx that the package was left on her porch at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Friday. At this time, no suspects have been identified. Extra patrols will be performed in the area.

Discourteous Behavior

On Friday, September 13, a resident contacted the Main Gate to report that he was run off the road by another vehicle as he passed through the four-way intersection approaching the Main Gate. The caller advised that he had followed the vehicle through the community, and the driver pulled over at one point and began to follow him. Both vehicles approached the Main Gate, and one of the drivers was visibly upset and yelling at the other driver. Security personnel successfully defused the situation.

Suspicious Incident

Security responded to a residence on Dream Maker Circle for a report of a suspicious incident on Tuesday, September 17. The resident stated that she had seen a man walking around her house on her Nest security camera. The responding officer performed a premise check and did not note anything out of the ordinary. However, the officer saw a commercial vendor at a neighboring house and learned that he mistakenly had gone to the wrong address when he first arrived. The homeowner was notified of the findings.
