Thefts
On Wednesday, July 17, a resident contacted Security to report that her golf cart had been stolen from her residence on Modena Road. She advised that the cart had been in the garage and was stolen sometime between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. while she was home. The garage door was open at the time. She further stated that a bicycle was stolen off her property on Monday evening. The resident declined to file a report with CCPD. The golf cart was located near the Rookery on Sunday, July 21. There did not appear to be any damages to the cart; however, the key was missing.
Security responded to a residence on Village Green Circle for a theft report on Wednesday, July 17. The resident reported that she recently had placed some netting and stakes around a fig tree in her yard to protect it from animals. She was unsure of when the items were stolen and did not want to file a report with CCPD.
Reported Fires
On Thursday, July 18, Security and CES responded to a residence on Cotton Crossing West for a report of a structure fire. The fire was located on a detached gazebo at the rear of the residence. The gazebo was completely engulfed in flames, fortunately, it did not spread to the home. CES extinguished the fire, and no injuries were reported.
Security and CES also responded to Carlow Lane on July 18 for a report of an open-area fire after a tree was struck by lightning. When units arrived, the tree was smoldering but had no visible flames. CES doused the tree to ensure that the fire was completely extinguished. No injuries were reported.
Suspicious Incidents
On Wednesday, July 17 Security responded to a residence on Mad Turkey Crossing for a suspicious incident. The resident reported that his son had witnessed a man looking through one of the windows of the home. The man was described as Caucasian with salt & pepper hair and facial stubble, and he appeared to be in his 50s. A patrol of the area resulted in negative findings. The resident contacted CCPD, who were able to lift prints from the window and are investigating. Extra patrols will be performed in the area.
