I hired Dan Krautheimer to help me with a variety of carpentry / construction projects around my home.
Dan has extensive experience in carpentry and in historic preservation / reconstruction. He even teaches a course in that to students at Savannah Tech.
I needed some lightweight restorative carpentry done to some gates at my house, and I needed some more extensive carpentry and finish work done to the woodwork and fascia boards on the front of my house.
First off Dan provided some excellent project estimates, outlining each item on the punchlist along with a price for each.
Next he set about tackling each project in turn, and getting my sign off at the conclusion of each.
As he explained up front, his work hours were a little unconventional because he would teach class in the day, then come by in the afternoon / evening when he was done teaching. Nevertheless he was very prompt about coming over each afternoon and working on the project for 2-3 hours, making steady progress. I did not have to call or nag him at any time.
And he always cleaned up after himself, making sure that the worksite was back to normal at the end of each day.
