Public Works...Working for You!

Roadside Cutbacks

In-house staff continued with the uplifting of the trees alongside the roads in Deer Creek along Shellwind Drive this week. This work is completed annually by staff to promote a healthy tree canopy within the community, while cutting back any tree limbs that may impede vehicular traffic or pose a potential hazard.

Main Gate Irrigation Replacement

The Association maintains 14 irrigation systems throughout the community (Athletic Field, Deer Creek Automatic Gate, Deer Creek Gate, Dog Park/Soccer Field, Dream Maker Circle, Landings Harbor, Main Gate, Marshview Landing Gate, Marshwood Gatehouse, Moon River Landing Gate, Oakridge Gate, Sunset Park, TLA, and Tidewater). Each irrigation system has been installed to enhance and maintain the turf and plantings located at Association amenity areas, gatehouses, and facilities.

This week, BrightView began replacing the irrigation system at The Main Gate. The new system will allow for additional coverage of the turfed areas and increased efficiencies within the system. This project involves the removal of the existing irrigation heads, valves, and controls for the Main Gate system and replacement with new components. The new system will have options for future expansion and will use a Smart Water Controller system.

Infrastructure Repairs - Concrete and Storm Drain Work

Absolute Concrete completed curb repairs on Willeford Drive this week. Southeast Pipe also completed storm drain pipe repairs on Wickersham Drive and Southerland Road.

Main Gatehouse Street Light Painting

In-house staff repainted the street lights along the entry and exit lanes at the Main Gatehouse this week. Although The Association does not maintain these streetlights, staff does repaint the light poles around the amenity areas to enhance the poles when they start to show deterioration.
