The Landings Featured in Audubon International's News Magazine

Did you know that The Landings holds the designation as a Certified Sustainable Community? The Landings at Skidaway Island was designated as an Audubon International Certified Sustainable Community in 2018, and it was the first community in Georgia to receive the honor. Since that time, The Landings has maintained this designation, with the most recent recertification occurring this year (2024). To date, The Landings remains the only community in Georgia with this designation.

To maintain certification, a community must demonstrate that they are maintaining a high degree of environmental quality in a majority of areas. Members maintain certification status in the Sustainable Communities Program by demonstrating continuous progress towards goals in the plan under 15 focus areas. Communities go through a recertification process every three years.

"The recertification would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Skidaway Chapter,  Sustainable Skidaway, Skidaway Audubon, TLA's Strategic Water Committee, several other volunteer groups throughout the island, and staff," said The Landings Association's Public Works Director Sean Burgess.
