Yard Debris Placement and Tree Removal Guidelines Reinstated in The Landings Beginning November 4

Wed, 10/30/2024

To help expedite cleanup post-Hurricane Helene, The Landings Association waived the rules for yard debris placement and tree removal. Beginning Monday (November 4), residents are reminded to resume following the rules and regulations for yard debris placement and tree removal. As a reminder, Chatham County collects yard debris in The Landings on Tuesdays and bulk trash items on the second Friday of each month. As of this email, Chatham County still has not resumed Bulk Trash Pickup, so its crews can focus on storm debris cleanup throughout the County.

Yard debris and bulk trash may not be placed curbside more than two days before the collection date and must not be placed on common property. Please note that logs and limbs from commercial or contracted major tree trimming or tree removal operations will not be collected by the County. Contractors can discard debris piles at the Evergreen Chipping Facility located off McWhorter Drive. Dump tickets can be purchased at the North/McWhorter Gate. Cash, check, and credit cards (Mastercard and Visa only) are accepted for purchase of the dump tickets.

A complete list of the County's regulations on dry trash and bulk trash collection can be found here. For specific questions regarding Yard Debris or Bulk Trash pickup, please call Chatham County Public Works (912-652-6840).

Additionally, all residential tree removals require evaluation and approval by the Public Works Department. Evaluations are conducted on Tuesdays and Fridays and can be submitted in writing via email to pwmanagers@gmail.com or through SeeClickFix
