President’s Update - October 23, 2024

Hurricane Season is not over yet! The official season extends to November 30 each year. Everyone should have registered on the Chatham County’s website by now to receive CEMA Alerts. Click here to register for CEMA Alerts. Be prepared!

Many of you have written or spoken with me with thanks and gratitude for the speed and thoroughness by TLA’s Public Work’s team in clearing roads and the common areas of debris from Hurricane Helene. I agree with you and applaud their efforts. The frequent communications were much appreciated, as well. Unfortunately, not all messages were delivered due to power, cell phone, and internet services being down.

Completing the debris removal will take weeks for The Landings and other affected areas of Chatham County. The cleanup costs are being compiled as the weeks progress. Included will be costs for repairs at Landings Harbor’s Ship Store, floating docks, and the sea wall.

Once we return to normal operations, the Guardian Pro speed detection devices will be redeployed. Additional Security Department activity will focus on our community paths.

There are a few days left to vote for three new members of the Association’s Board of Directors. The last day cast your ballots is Thursday, October 31 by 4 p.m.  Also, look over the TLA Committees and tell us your preference. Click here to fill out and submit a committee application.
