Accident

On Wednesday, October 9, Security responded to a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Diamond Causeway and Lake Street. Chatham County Police Department (CCPD), Chatham County Fire Department (CCFD), and Chatham Emergency Services (CES) already were on scene. The driver of the first vehicle attempted to make a left turn onto Lake Street from Diamond Causeway and was struck by the second vehicle. The first vehicle then struck the third vehicle, which was stopped at the red light on Lake Street. The driver of the first vehicle was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The first and second vehicles were towed from the scene. The driver of the first vehicle was found at fault for the accident.

Suspicious Incident

Security spoke with a resident on Monday, October 14, concerning an incident which occurred on Saturday, October 12. The resident advised that upon attempting to enter his vehicle in the driveway, he noticed the driver’s seat had been adjusted to the point that neither he nor his wife could fit in the vehicle. He also noticed an unknown orange powdery substance on the garage floor that extended from the back wall towards the front of the garage. The culprit was believed to be a nearby juvenile. However, the juvenile’s parents provide information that prove otherwise. CCPD is investigating.

Traffic Safety

The Guardian Pro camera/LIDAR system remained on Franklin Creek Road South near Butterback Lane. Between October 9 and October 15, there were no speeding violations.

Appeals Committee Update

On Wednesday, October 9, the Appeals Committee heard 10 cases for various Rules violations such as speeding, overnight parking, and unauthorized signs. Three of the appeals were approved. The remaining seven appeals were denied, and the violations were upheld.

TLA Rules and Regulations Enforcement (sans Guardian Pro)

• Four violations were issued to residents and guests for parking in a no parking zone.
• Two violations were issued to residents and guests for parking in an unauthorized area.
