Helene Debris Removal Update

R&D contractors, as well as extra BrightView landscaping employees, along with your Landings Association Public Works team, have made great progress in removing debris from common property left behind by Hurricane Helene. The contracted crews will deploy to other regions at the end of this week, with R&D scheduled to head to Florida to help with the major impacts from Hurricane Milton.

Chatham County has contracted with AshBritt to handle removal of larger piles of debris on residential, private property. We do not know the exact schedule of when these crews will be entering The Landings. However, as noted in yesterday’s email, the County is suspending bulk trash removal for the foreseeable future to focus solely on debris removal throughout the County.

Meanwhile, now that the major debris removal from common property is nearing completion, the on-island chipping facility will reopen on Monday (October 14) to private contractors, so you have the option to have your landscaper or tree companies remove your debris rather than waiting for the County crews. Dump tickets can be purchased at The Landings Association (600 Landings Way South).
