Hurricane Helene Update (September 26 @ 11:15 a.m.)
Chatham County is feeling the effects of Hurricane Helene, with rain and winds in some areas.
At its 9 a.m. Update, Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) shared that Chatham County should expect rain to continue throughout today and tonight (September 26) into Friday morning (September 27). Rain may be heavier at some points, and flooding may increase along the coast if heavy rains coincide with high tide.Â
Conditions remain favorable for spinoff tornadoes, with the highest threat for tornadoes within the stronger rain bands. Chatham County is under a Tornado Watch until 9 p.m. tonight (September 26).
