Phase three of the dry rack replacement project is well into the demolition phase. The contractor is planning to have the entire structure down and removed from the property by the end of the week. Because of delays with permits, the Marina staff teamed up with the contractor to remove parts of the steel structure, aiming to finish the project before boating season starts. Dolan Yacht Services provided a plasma cutting system to remove the old roof sections to expedite the demolition phase. The existing footers will be taken out next week, and new foundation forms will be set in their place.
The Public Works construction team has begun the split rail fence installation. Upon completion of the construction phase, new ambient lighting and a freshwater system will be added to the project. The new composite materials used will extend the life expectancy of the asset by 15 to 20 years compared to traditional wood materials.
The restroom renovations are scheduled to be completed this week. Final painting and installation of the new partition walls are scheduled, with the restrooms expected to reopen next week.
The 2026 Harbor Dredging Project contractor is expected to arrive this week. A notification to the marina boaters is being prepared to go out ahead of the project startup. Staff and the dredge contractor discussed testing an alternate booster pump at the beginning of the project. This effort is intended to increase the material volumes being removed from the basin and allow the dredge project to be shortened, reducing the overall costs.
