The Martin de Porres Society of Savannah was started nearly 40 years ago by former Landings residents, the late Dr. George and Yolanda Negron. Today the nonprofit is run by their daughter, Maria Verwiel, who continues to live in The Landings and carries on their wish to help underserved children of Savannah.
